Jeremy Gilbertson was recently appointed to Seat 5 on the Newcastle Public Schools Board of Education. He is pictured at the Tuesday, March 12 meeting. He was sworn in at the February 13 meeting.

The guest speaker for the McClain County GOP in their 7 p.m. Monday, March 25 meeting at the Newcastle Storm Shelter is author of “Stolen Government,” former State Representative Charles Key.

Chickasaw Nation Governor Bill Anoatubby is the guest speaker for the 11:45 a.m. March 26 Newcastle Chamber of Commerce business luncheon.

The following persons have been charged by the State of Oklahoma with traffic or other violations or have filed other court actions in McClain County District Court between March 7-13, 2024.

Lunch is served for a $5 donation at the Newcastle Senior Citizen’s Center each weekday. Meals consist of a drink, soup, salad bar, main meal and dessert.

Middle school math teacher to represent NPS in state competition

A ribbon cutting by the Newcastle Chamber of Commerce was held for Scooter’s Coffee, 376 N. Main Street, at noon on Friday. Members of the chamber, and the Newcastle High School drum corps welcomed the new business. Owner Rita Metcalf (center in photo to the right) is with Jared Dunn, vice president of Operations for Scooter’s, and Brittany Hauser, bank manager at The First National Bank in Newcastle. With the building of the Newcastle location, the Metcalfs now own 19 Scooter’s Coffee locations in Oklahoma and several in Nebraska.
