Deadline to change party affiliation approaches

Oklahomans who want to change their party affiliation must submit their change no later than March 31, McClain County Election Board Secretary Karen Haley said today. Voters may change their party affiliation online using the OK Voter Portal at oklahoma. gov/elections/ovp or by completing a new Voter Registration Application.

Easter Bunny visits Veterans Park

The Easter Bunny made a surprise visit in Newcastle during the Newcastle Parks & Recreation Easter Egg Hunt Saturday. The City states that 55,000 eggs were found during the hunt. Pioneer Telephone provided free hot dogs during the event, Newcastle Chamber of Commerce provided an egg recycling area, and Rotary Club helped in different areas.

Drainage woes in Country Club Estates is topic for City Council

Homeowners in Country Club Estates looking for some help for water drainage in their area were in attendance at the March Newcastle City Council meeting. Their discussion with council members has now led to the City taking a fresh look at engineering in the area, and possibly doing some future modifications of drainage entering the housing addition.

Musical begins tonight (Thursday)

Newcastle High School will have a school musical production of “You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown” at 7 p.m. March 28-29, and at 2 p.m. March 30 at the NHS Auditorium, 101 N. Main Street. Playing Charlie Brown is Braxton Cyrus and Aubrey Cain is playing Snoopy. Tickets for the production are $10 for adults, $5 for students, and a concession is available with cash transactions only.
