On Friday, the House Democratic Caucus renewed their call for the Speaker of the House to create a special bipartisan committee to investigate the possible impeachment of State Superintendent of Public Instruction, Ryan Walters.

Throughout the last several weeks, both chambers of Congress have continued to work toward an agreement to assist Israel, Ukraine and American forces and installations in the Western Pacific, as well as provide more security for our Southern border. While supporting our allies and partners in thwarting aggression is very important to the United States’ own safety, we would be remiss not to also secure our own southern border and address the national security threats this crisis presents.

The Oklahoma City Community Foundation has set a record for the number of students and scholarship awards for the 2023-24 academic year through the state’s largest independent scholarship program.

Several Newcastle High School and junior high Band students auditioned for, and made honor bands this year.

It was a tough week for Newcastle boys basketball as the Racers lost to both Blanchard and Anadarko. The Blanchard loss, on December 12, was only by one point.

Newcastle wrestling came in 10th place out of 24 teams at the competitive Duncan Southern Oklahoma Invitational High School Tournament on December 15-16.

Newcastle’s girls made the drive to Blanchard on Tuesday, December 12 to turn around and come home with the 41-22 win.

Newcastle High School’s Dance team took part in the recently held Class 5A Oklahoma State Dance Team Director’s Association competition. Members of the team are: Adison Newman, Jaidriana Salas, Kaidyn Blevins, Leah Boone, Isabella Kelley, Kynzli Heltcel, Kayleigh Pate, Kylie Savage, Head Coach Rylea Cole, and Assistant Coach Maggie Goolsby.
