Last week, both chambers of Congress passed, and the president signed into law, another continuing resolution to temporarily fund the government and avoid a partial government shutdown. While this is not where I hoped lawmakers would be at this point in the appropriations process, Congress’s annual process to fund government functions and agencies, it has unfortunately been significantly drawn out this past year because of compounding delays.
Shoebox donations will bring joy to children in need
WASHINGTON - The Chickasaw Nation is one of four First American tribes, 35 states and five U.S. territories to launch the permanent summer grocery benefits program for children, known as Summer Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT). The tribes plan to begin the program in summer 2024, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).
In August, Declan Calfy attended the 2023 International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC) Youth Speed Climbing World Championship in Seoul, South Korea. Declan placed 10th in his age category against 25 of the finest speed climbers from across the globe.
