Newcastle High School Business and Professionals of America is planning their inaugural Swing for Success Golf Tournament October 21 at Earlywine Golf Course, 11600 S. Portland Avenue in Oklahoma City.

United States Representative Tom Cole received the National Distinguished Advocacy Award this week, the most prestigious award presented by the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN), in recognition of his significant contribution in the fight against cancer to increase research funding.

A morning mingle was held at Rapid Fire Services (top photo) and a multi-chamber activity was at Smokin’ Joes in Tuttle, hosted by the Tuttle Chamber of Commerce. Several Newcastle Chamber members were in attendance.

Newcastle High School Cheer took the trip to Tulsa on Saturday to take part in the State Cheer competition at Union High School, but fell short.

Inauguration ceremonies for Chickasaw Nation Governor Bill Anoatubby, Lt. Governor Chris Anoatubby, and five elected officials will be 11 a.m., Monday, Oct. 2, in the Ataloa Theatre on the East Central University campus, Chickasaw Nation Election Secretary Rita Loder announced.

Rotary Club International of Newcastle is planning a Trivia Night fundraiser with doors opening at 6 p.m. and the game starting at 7 p.m. Thursday, September 14 at Libby’s Cafe, 111 N. Main in Goldsby.

A Wedding Show is planned for 9 a.m. Saturday, September 23 at The Barn at Country Club special event center.
