On February 3, McClain County 4-H members competed in three culinary contests at the McClain County Farm and Home Building. The contests included a Table Setting contest in which youth compete for the best-looking table setting.

Senate Bill 1767 by Sen. Jessica Garvin, RDuncan, would authorize district boards of education to establish qualifications for additional individuals to carry firearms on public and private school property, along with the currently allowed school personnel and others outlined in law.

The Betty McElderry Memorial Chili Cookoff scheduled earlier this year was rescheduled because of weather. It will be at 6 p.m. February 20 at the Purcell Multipurpose Center, 1400 Chandler Road.
