The Betty McElderry Memorial Chili Cookoff scheduled earlier this year was rescheduled because of weather. It will be at 6 p.m. February 20 at the Purcell Multipurpose Center, 1400 Chandler Road.

“Our event in January had to be cancelled due to the Arctic Blast,” said Mc-Clain County Democrat Party Chair Sherrie McNall. “We are trying again.”

Special guest speakers will be Kody Macaulay and Mary Brannon. Both are Democrats running for Congressional District 4 United States Representative.

The seat is currently held by Tom Cole (R-Moore).

Cash prizes will be awarded to the best crock pot of chili and the best chili wannabe, such as taco soup, Frito pie, or maybe white bean chili. Cook participants are asked to email their entry to mcclaindemocrats@ gmail.com.

Dining begins at 6 p.m. at a cost of $15 each.

The McClain County Democrat Party said they would like to thank McElderry Rentals for their generous support of the event.
