Border crisis is why I voted to impeach Mayorkas
In January of 2021, President Biden assumed the presidency with an aggressive immigration agenda. In just his first 100 days in office, he took 94 executive actions, including removing Title 42 and Remain in Mexico, halting border wall construction, and reinstating Catch-and-Release, in an attempt to make it easier for immigrants to illegally enter and stay in our nation.

Take an active role in legislative process
The legislative session begins with the annual State of the State, committee meetings, and days of recognition for various groups and causes, including Rose Day. Each year, hundreds of pro-life advocates visit the Capitol to share the importance of upholding the sanctity of life. I appreciate everyone who visited my office to share their perspective on proposed legislation. As we continue to work through legislation this session, I encourage you to take an active role in the process, especially as we consider matters that will have a statewide impact.

Legislation could impact fentanyl crisis
Oklahoma is in the throes of an epidemic, and it is called fentanyl. A synthetic opioid, fentanyl is as addictive as it is deadly. It is 50 times stronger than heroin, cheap to produce — and destroying families. Six years ago, Oklahoma suffered 50 fentanyl-related deaths. By 2022, that number had skyrocketed to 619, accounting for the vast majority of fatal opioid overdoes in the state. While final figures for this past year are not yet known, we do know there were 317 fentanyl deaths in the first five months of 2023 alone. Moreover, fentanyl is an equal-opportunity killer, impacting communities of every kind.

The American Legion – Part 20
Last week we learned that in June 2008, President George W. Bush signed into law the Post-9/11 Veteran Educational Assistance Act, a next-generation GI Bill strongly supported by the American Legion. The bill renewed the federal government’s commitment to veterans by providing them with substantially better education benefits.

Biden throttles American-made energy
President Biden has progressives alongside the likes of dictators from Russia and Iran to Communist China celebrating. The White House has given them a “Green New Deal” gift by announcing a moratorium on pending and new application permits for liquefied natural gas (LNG) export terminals across the country. The move directly targets American-made energy. It will sacrifice jobs, economic growth, and energy security here at home, while also punishing our allies abroad.

Words most certainly matter
Words: the foundation of language, simple letters strung together to form a word. Then words are used to create sentences, then paragraphs, and eventually complete stories shared between human beings.

Ensuring a strong national security posture
Over three years of Biden Administration foreign policy has led to national security crisis after crisis. First, the Biden Administration has provided worse than absentee leadership on our immigration system and border security policy. They have actively exacerbated the problems, resulting in one of the worst humanitarian and national security crises seen at the southern border in U.S. history. The president’s lack of leadership on the world stage has also contributed to several global catastrophes, including in Afghanistan, Ukraine and maritime disruption and violence in the Middle East.
