9 seniors lead Racers on the soccer field; Their goal is to make the playoffs
Slow-pitch softball is underway in Newcastle for the 2024 season and the Racer girls have had two wins and three losses. Two of the losses came at the hands of Class 6A teams.
Newcastle’s Racer baseball team had a 6-4 victory over the Blanchard Lions on Friday, and then a 9-0 win against Fletcher Saturday, giving them a 9-1 record going into Spring Break this week.
An Indian Taco and meat pie fundraiser for Taj Smith for all things baseball and college football and baseball invitations is from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Newcastle, 121 E. Fox Lane.

Newcastle boys and girls golf is underway for the 2024 season. The boys have already had some success with a first place finish at a tournament in Yukon. The girls teed off for their first tournament of the season on Tuesday this week at Purcell.
Coach Jason Haggerty said he was proud of the Newcastle Track and Field athletes after their first meet of the 2024 season at Putnam City West. He also said he was excited for the year.
Newcastle opened its 2024 baseball season with a special ceremony and then topped it off with wins on March 1 against the MacArthur Highlanders and March 2 against the OKC Knights.
