A graveside service for Melvin E. Judkins was at 10 a.m., Thursday, May 25, 2023, at Resthaven Cemetery in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

Reginald Gerald Petty, 80, of Newcastle, passed away on May 26, 2023 in Oklahoma City. “Jerry” was born on November 16, 1942 to Reginald B. Petty (RB) and Virginia Petty.

Mr. Wayne Rawson, 88, of Oklahoma City, a former resident of Newcastle, Oklahoma, died early Tuesday morning May 23, 2023, at home surrounded by his family. He was born August 2, 1934, in Wallville, Oklahoma, to Hance Joner Rawson and Edna Earl (Owen) Rawson.

Newcastle’s 2023 Red, White & Blue Fest is being planned for 6-10 p.m. July 1 at Veterans Park.

Lunch is served for a $5 donation at the Newcastle Senior Citizen’s Center each week day. Scheduled meals are: June 1-7 June 1: Chicken Strips June 2: Taco Salad June 5: Ham & Beans June 6: BBQ Chicken June 7: Steak Fingers

Several activities are planned by the Newcastle Chamber of Commerce for the month of June.
