The Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics hosted its Annual Teacher Appreciation Day on Feb. 7. At the event, Newcastle resident and OSSM senior, Andrew Nelson, honored Kevin Jones, his previous teacher at Newcastle High School.

The McClain County OSU Extension Office will host a meeting dealing with gopher control options. The meeting will be at 6 p.m. March 7 at the McClain County Extension Office, located at 1721 Hardcastle Blvd. in Purcell.
