Social Security must be saved
The solvency of Social Security has reached a turning point, and millions of Americans who have paid into this program throughout their working lives are at risk of not receiving the money they deserve. The reality of the challenge facing Social Security is that without reforms, these funds will dry up. Congress must find solutions to save this program rather than sacrifice the hard-earned retirement of working Americans.

City doing good job with projects for growing population
Newcastle is experiencing incredible growth. In fact, a newspaper article by reporter Jana Hayes in the Oklahoman last year states that Newcastle is the fastest-growing city in the state with an 8.9% growth rate.

We need help promoting ‘Empowering Girls Through Sports’
In 1976, my wife, Jama, enrolled as a freshman at Indiana University of Pennsylvania to study criminology and accounting and she was also a member of the women’s track team. Unlike the men’s program, the women’s program did not offer scholarships, provide for preferential on-campus jobs, did not have their academic schedules modified so as to not interfere with practices, and had no paid coaches. The men’s coach volunteered his time and the women themselves funded the program.
