Margaret Ann Mobley
Margaret Ann Mobley
Margaret was born on July 26, 1949, in Vinita, Oklahoma. She was the third child of four children born to Herman Henry Lodes and Pauline Elizabeth (Arnold) Lodes. Margaret grew up in Vinita and graduated from Vinita High School with the class of 1967. During her senior year she married her high school sweetheart, James Henry Mobley. They were married on March 3, 1967, in Vinita, and later moved to Abilene, Texas, where Henry was stationed in the U. S. Air Force.
In 1972, Margaret and Henry moved to Newcastle, Oklahoma, the place they have called home for the past 51 years. While in high school, Margaret became a licensed beautician. For nearly 20 years she owned and operated her own beauty shop called the Magic Mirror in Newcastle. While working as a beautician she also worked many years at the Newcastle Elementary School, teaching children the basics in computer skills.
Then on June 2, 1993, she began a new career with the Newcastle Police Department as a dispatcher. For 23 years, Margaret proudly served the community of Newcastle and its Police Force, retiring on March 16, 2016. Throughout her life, Margaret was a faithful wife and mother of three children, DeAnn, David and Jennifer. She was active in her community and in the activities of her children as they grew up in Girl Scouts, 4-H, FFA, and many sports. She was their biggest fan.
Becoming a Nana was one of the greatest joys in her life. Baking, watching movies, playing games and drinking tea or coffee with them were some of the moments she loved the most. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
