On September 30, Peaceful Warriors Martial Arts Competition Team students from the Newcastle area participated in Battle of the Midwest in Strafford, Missouri.
The following are their results: Liam Nett, 8-9 year old intermediate: 3rd continuous kickboxing, 1st Karate flag, 2nd Creative Weapon, 3rd in point fighting, and 1st in double elimination point fighting.
Landon Yance, 10-11 yearold advanced division: 3rd in creative weapon.
Aksel Rose, 10-11 year-old advanced division: Honorable mention for doing a creative form with a tri staff (a very difficult weapon you don’t see often; it got a lot of people at the tournament excited), 2nd Extreme Weapons (bo form), and 3rd in point fighting.
Caitlynn Stapleton, 10-11 year-old advanced division: 2nd in point fighting.
Ethan Bass, 12-13 yearold beginner division: 3rd in creative weapon, 3rd in traditional form, and 1st in double elimination point sparring.
Anthony Villa, Jr., 12-13 intermediate division: 3rd in creative weapon, and 1st in double elimination point fighting.
