Newcastle High School Cheer took the trip to Tulsa on Saturday to take part in the State Cheer competition at Union High School, but fell short.
The Racers were number 10 of 13 schools, with 222.8 points overall, compared to the State Champion Southmoore Jaguars with 287.4 points overall.
Following Southmoore was Heritage Hall with 250.2 points, Tuttle with 249.2 points, Crossings Christian with 246.2 points, Blanchard with 244.6 points, Tahlequah with 233.4 points, Grove with 233 points, Coweta with 229.2 points, Carl Albert with 226.6 points (just edging out Newcastle), the Racers with 226.4 points, Glenpool with 222.8 points, Claremore with 216.8 points, and Cache with 199.6 points.
Newcastle made it to the State level after being in the top 5 at the Class 5A-B Regional held at Chickasha the week before.
