Racers travel to Carl Albert CC meet

Newcastle varsity and junior varsity traveled to Midwest City on Thursday and Friday to run in the Carl Albert Cross Country meets.

Newcastle varsity and junior varsity traveled to Midwest City on Thursday and Friday to run in the Carl Albert Cross Country meets.

Newcastle’s varsity girls placed sixth out of 16 teams, while running fourth place out of Class 5A teams.

The Racer boys came in fifth out of 20 teams while coming in third out of the Class 5A teams.

Addison Bush was the fastest for the Racer girls, running a 22:32 time on the 5k course, and placing 13th.

Bella Allen ran a 23:17 and placed 23rd; Rylee Heskew, 24:19, 35th; Daelyn Fulton, 25:15, 53rd; and Bentlee Lindsey, 25:25, 55th.

Collin Seely had the best Racer boys’ time with a 17:56 on the 5k course. He placed 13th overall.

Luke Perkins was next for Newcastle with an 18:05, placing 17th; Cooper Williams ran an 18:51, 35th; Steven Whitmore, 19:05, 43rd; Cole Albertson, 19:12, 48th; Jason Johnson, 20:31, 78th; and Rhett Carter, 20:50, 86th.

Running for the junior varsity girls were the following: Nicci O’Bryant, 28:33, 30th; Madi Platte, 29:11, 36th; Ella Whitmore, 32:33, 64th; Jaedyn King, 33:12, 66th; and Ava Rivera, 34:44, 73rd.

Boys’ junior varsity runners were: Cooper Shelton, 20:29, 21st (out of 166 boys); Toby Phifer, 21:59, 58th; Gabe Thompson, 22:16, 66th; Paul Porter, 22:36, 76th; Jude Kersh, 23:02, 84th; Nate Holt, 23:13, 91st; Gavin Holt, 23:30, 96th; and Brian Green, 22:33, 100th.
