MATC employees recognized at Oklahoma Summit

Mid-America employees took their place in the spotlight at the 56th Oklahoma Summit as the Oklahoma Association of Career and Technology Education (OkACTE) and Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education (ODCTE) honored outstanding Oklahoma CareerTech educators and professionals for 2023.

Mid-America employees took their place in the spotlight at the 56th Oklahoma Summit as the Oklahoma Association of Career and Technology Education (OkACTE) and Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education (ODCTE) honored outstanding Oklahoma CareerTech educators and professionals for 2023.

A spokesperson for MATC said, “Please join us in congratulating these individuals who were recognized for their time and commitment to making MATC an asset to the communities and students we serve.”

Jona Kay Squires, MATC Business and Industry Agriculture Management, was awarded the OkACTE Postsecondary Professional of the Year. A $7,500 cash award was also provided by Robert A. Funk, Sr., president of Express Employment and Professionals.

Amy Wilkey, MATC Health Careers Explorer teacher, was named the OkACTE New Professional of the Year.

Dallas Krout, MATC director of Student Services, was honored with the Dennie Ports Rising Star Award.

Amanda Cummings, Pre-Engineering teacher, was named the OkACTE STEM Division New Teacher of the Year.

Kristin Frankenberg, Practical Nursing instructor, was awarded the OkACTE Health Careers Division Postsecondary Professional of the Year.

David Graham, Criminal Justice Officer teacher, was awarded the Carl Perkins Community Service Award for the OkACTE Trade & Industrial Education Division.
