Newcastle Schools have had a great start to the school year! There were a lot of smiles, hugs, and high fives on the first day of school from students and parents.
The community was so helpful in helping us kick off the new year. Many businesses and individuals donated school supplies, door prizes for the welcome back assembly, food for the teachers during professional development days, mowed the grass at our sites, and updated our flower beds. A huge thank you to: MA+ Architects, Coryell Roofing, Raising Canes, OEC, Creek Bottom, CAPP, Chasing Elly, First Baptist Church, Pioneer Telephone, Community Bank of Oklahoma, Happy Heart Homestead, Nabholz, Legacy Bank, Luigi’s, Walmart, Newcastle Chamber of Commerce, Contemporary Family Dental, Focus Federal Credit Union, Troop and Pack 231, Four Point Energy, Victory Family Church, First National Bank, Johnny Wynne, Boomer Elcyzyn, Josh Bray, and everyone who donated school supplies during the Touch-a-Truck event, and all of the parents who helped out with the site PTOs. I truly appreciate all of you!
School activities are well underway. Our athletic teams are doing well this year! The high school football team won their home opener against Weatherford in front of a packed stadium. It was a great win for the Racers! Volleyball and cross country are also having a great season! The high school softball team is undefeated and Coach Crossley celebrated 1,100 wins on August 25 at the Lincoln Christian Tournament last weekend. Congratulations to Coach Crossley for this incredible career achievement!
The FFA students are selling tickets for the carry out pork dinner which will be Monday, September 4, 2023, from 4:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. at the Newcastle Fair Barn. Tickets are $10. If you would like to purchase a ticket please contact Brandon Morgan at the high school.
Thanks for a great start to the year! It is a great day to be a Racer!
