The McClain County Free Fair announces a new Open Division for the fair. This year they are adding Youth Baking.
This class is designed for youth ages 18 and under. There are 10 classes and youth may choose to enter one item per class. These are Rolled Cookies, Drop Cookies, Bar Cookies or Brownies, and Decorated Cookies. Quick Breads (no yeast), Muffins, Cornbread, Biscuits, Candy (soft), and Candy (hard).
There is also the continued “Best of Wheat” yeast baking contest for youth. Open class Fair Books are available at the McClain County OSU Extension Office, 1721 Hardcastle Blvd. in Purcell or online at mcclaincountyfair.com.
The McClain County Free Fair is Thursday, September 7 through Saturday, September 9.
