If you are new to Newcastle or you just want to be more active and knowledgeable about your community, don’t forget that from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday is the Newcastle Chamber of Commerce Meet the Community at Newcastle Christian Church, 2200 N. Main Street. “At Meet the Community, you will see many of the businesses, civic leaders, and non-profits that call Newcastle home, and they will want to get to know you,” a chamber spokesperson said. “You will see and meet many of this town’s great people.

“Our desire is that you see as much of our town in one setting, and leave feeling more invested and knowledgeable of what we have here. We want you ‘All N.’” The chamber would like local residents to attend and hear about Newcastle Public Schools, sports teams, city offices, the Newcastle library, medical and dental offices, veterinarians, family services, financial institutions, event centers, and everything in between.

There will also be free copies of the Newcastle Pacer.

This is an event where chamber members and other members of the community will set up tables and displays with the intention of talking to attendees, and telling them what they have to offer.

A census printed in the Oklahoman showed Newcastle as the fastest growing city in Oklahoma population percentage wise. The chamber states that there are new neighborhoods, more students in the school system, more cars, and more businesses, and this doesn’t even mention the Chickasaw Nation hospital, which is coming, and the turnpike which will connect Newcastle to Moore and Norman.
