First Baptist Church Newcastle (FBCN) has always been a church with vision. Since its inception in 1905, this church has wanted to reach the people in its community. When the church moved to its current location in the 1970s, it was a bold statement that the church was willing to do what was necessary to reach the growing community of Newcastle. Through many ups and downs, FBCN has been a light in this community and has continued to Dig Deep into the Word of God and Reach Wide into the world with the Gospel. We praise God for all that has taken place through the ministry of FBCN.

We now have an opportunity like none other. The population of Newcastle is growing at a rapid rate, much faster than any other time in its history. People from all backgrounds and walks of life are moving into this community. All you have to do is take a quick drive around Newcastle to see the many neighborhoods and rooftops popping up literally everywhere you look. God is bringing many people into this area, and FBCN wants to be sure we have a space large enough to meet the needs of our growing community.

As we say at FBCN, “We want to live the vision for the next generation.” We are committed to making sure that a Gospelcentered, Bible-preaching, community-reaching church exists in this area for generations to come.

On Sunday, July 9, 2023, FBCN broke ground on a new facility that will allow us to more effectively reach and minister to people. The members of FBCN voted with incredible unity to say to our community, “We are here for you.” For the next 52 weeks, construction on a new worship facility, atrium space, outdoor commons area, new drop off, and exterior face lift will be taking place. Lord willing, everything will be completed by the end of summer or early fall 2024. The new worship center will hold 1,209 people. This will meet the need of allowing ap-

The atrium will serve 400 people, and will include a coffee bar that will allow great opportunity for our fellowship and community. This area will allow for FBCN to not only have wonderful ministry events for the church, but also for the community. We love serving our schools and community, and using our space to be a blessing to many.

There are many other exciting features about this phase of construction, but also more plans for additions and updates in the future. You can read all about our vision at fbcnewcastle.com/LTV. The best days at FBCN are ahead of us. We have chosen to see the need, meet the need, and live the vision for the next generation. Come and see all the great things happening at FBCN. We have worship services at 8 a.m, 9:30 a.m., and 11 a.m. each week, and age-appropriate Bible study for all at 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. We would love you to join us!
