A new session of Grief Share is planned to start August 17 at Woodland Hills Baptist Church, 313 South Hwy. 76 in Newcastle.
This session begins at 9:30 a.m. and lasts until 11:30 a.m. that Thursday, and the sessions continue each Thursday through November 9. This program is intended to offer help and hope after the death of a spouse, child, family member, or friend.
Grief Share is a support group where you will find a warm, caring environment, and you will come to see it as an “oasis” on your journey through grief.
Organizers said there are three key parts to Grief Share. They are video seminar, support group, and workbook. Grief Share is a network of 15,000-plus churches worldwide which offers grief support groups. The program is non-denominational and features biblical concepts to help in your healing, Organizers said everyone is welcome to begin attending the Grief Share group at any point. Each session is “selfcontained” so you don’t have to attend in sequence, they said. Some of the weekly seminar topics are: Is This Normal, Your Grief Journey, Self-Care, Anger, Regrets, and Stuck In Grief.

It is based on Psalm 147:3 NIV: “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.”
