Newcastle FOP Lodge 135 to hold inaugural Skeet Shoot

The Newcastle Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 135 is announcing its first ever Skeet Shoot event, set to take place on Saturday, September 16 at the Silverleaf Shooting Shotgun Sports, 8513 S. Douglas Boulevard in Guthrie.

Newcastle Police Lt. Shelly Spratt said, “The Skeet Shoot promises to be an awesome day of camaraderie, friendly competition, and support for the local community. Participants from all walks of life, including law enforcement officers, shooting enthusiasts, and community members, are invited to join in the fun and show off their skills at this exciting event.”

Spratt said the shoot will begin with registration which opens at 8:30 a.m. and closes at 9:30 a.m. A safety meeting will be at 9:45 a.m.

“The Skeet Shoot event will be a challenging yet enjoyable experience for shooters of all levels, from beginners to seasoned professionals,” Spratt said. “Participants will have the opportunity to showcase their marksmanship and compete for fantastic prizes generously provided by our event sponsors.”

Registration for the event is underway and is open to all individuals interested in supporting this worthy cause and experiencing a day filled with excitement and entertainment.

“Participants are encouraged to sign up early to secure their spot in the competition,” Spratt said.

She added that the Newcastle Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 135 is deeply committed to serving the local community and promoting positive relations between law enforcement officers and the public.

Proceeds from the Skeet Shoot will go towards funding various community outreach programs, supporting local charities, and enhancing educational initiatives that benefit Newcastle and its residents.

This is a 50-shot tournament with teams of four competing for best shot. Shooters provide their own gun, ammo, eye and ear protection. Ammo shot must be 7.5, 8, or 9 and not over 1 1/8 ounces.

Lunch will be provided for all participants and there will be a raffle and prizes.

Sponsorships include: Team sponsor at $500, which includes shooting entry for four people and a sign advertising your business at one of the course stations; Team sponsor at $300, which includes shooting entry for two people and a sign advertising your business at one of the course stations; station sponsor, includes a sign advertising your business at one of the course stations; and singleperson entry at $125.
