In a regular session held on Monday, July 17 the Board of McClain County Commissioners convened at the Mc-Clain County Courthouse in Room 111. Chairman Terry Daniel led the meeting, commencing with the flag salute.
County Clerk Deputy Rebekah Couch called the roll, and present were chairman Terry Daniel, vice-chairman Glen Murray, and member Wilson Lyles.
The board unanimously approved the minutes of the previous meeting on July 10. Furthermore, they authorized various maintenance and operation claims for the fiscal years 2022-2023 and 20232024.
In a series of approvals, the board sanctioned the disposal of equipment and the purchase of new tractors and a rotary cutter. District Two sold a 2007 Chevrolet acquired from the Sheriff’s Office, and District Three will acquire two new Kubota M Series Tractors and a Land Pride HD LH Rotary Cutter from Great Plains Kubota.
Commissioners agreed to a Memorandum of Understanding between Blanchard Public Schools and McClain County for on-campus law enforcement services to be provided by McClain County Sheriff for the 2023-2024 fiscal year. They also resolved to advertise bids for the sale of a 1970 GMC incomplete parts truck and a 1994 Ford Motorhome for the Sheriff’s Office.
Contracts with Crafton Tull were approved for the resurfacing of McClain County roads along May Avenue, (NS-305) from SH-39, North 6.0 miles to SH-74B.
The commissioners’ meeting was recessed at 8:40 a.m. to conduct the EDA and CGA meeting, but resumed in public session at 12:05 p.m. The Lime Rock Productions matter was tabled for the next meeting.
With the conclusion of all business, the board adjourned the meeting.
