In a regular session held on Monday at the McClain County Courthouse, the Board of McClain County Commissioners addressed several important matters. Chairman Wilson Lyles called the meeting to order and led the flag salute, followed by County Clerk Pam Beller calling the roll.

The meeting began with the approval of the minutes from the previous meeting on June 26, 2023. Terry Daniel made the motion, which was seconded by Glen Murray, and the minutes were approved by a unanimous vote.

A significant decision made during the session was the election of officers for the BOCC for the 20232024 fiscal year. Wilson Lyles moved to elect Terry Daniel as Chairman, Glen Murray as Vice Chairman, and Wilson Lyles as Member, a motion that was seconded by Glen Murray and unanimously carried.

The approval of maintenance and operation claims was also granted by the commissioners. Various departments submitted claims for the fiscal year 2022-2023, covering expenses such as vehicles, legal services, supplies, labor, and services. The claims were unanimously approved by the board.

Other key resolutions and actions included the approval of road crossing permits for OneOk Field Service in District Three, the renewal of equipment leases, and resolutions related to retirement contributions, investment by the County Treasurer, and procedures for the Schedule of Expenditures of Federal Awards.

Additionally, agreements for legal services, drug court programs, and drug testing contracts were acknowledged and approved.

The commissioners also addressed disposal of equipment in District 2, renewal with Midwest Card & ID Solutions for McClain County Emergency Management, and a change in the approved vehicle purchase for District Three.

At the end of the meeting, a payment of $25,000 from CED #5 to District Three for a new vehicle was accepted, and the board decided to adjourn the meeting.

These decisions and actions during the session reflect the commitment of the BOCC to address various aspects of county governance and ensure McClain County operations for the upcoming fiscal year.
