McClain County OSU Extension now has a Master Sewing Volunteer. Windy Sabin from Mc-Clain County was one of 24 volunteers who took part in the inaugural Master Sewing Volunteer (MSV) program earlier this year at the Cleveland County Fairgrounds in Norman.
MSVs have received additional training from OSU Extension in order to specialize in sewing programs. In addition to hands-on sewing techniques, the training included how to plan a sewing workshop, how to manage difficult classroom situations, how to teach safety in the sewing room, how to impact your community, and grant-writing.
Sabin, is trained to lead sewing-related workshops for both youth and adults.
She also possesses special talents in design and clothing construction. She enjoys working with youth and adults, and teaching basic construction to detailed methods of sewing.
