The city’s Annual Newcastle Youth Fishing Derby 2023 starts with registration from 7-10 a.m. Saturday at Veterans Park Pond, 1300 Garrett Drive.
There will be special prizes for longest fish, best dressed angler, and biggest fish. Age groups include six and under, seven to 10, and 11-15. Children must be accompanied by an adult and bring pole, tackle and bait. No license is required for this event.
Newcastle Chamber of Commerce has a Morning Mingle scheduled for 9 a.m. Friday at The First National Bank & Trust, 1308 N. Main Street.
All are welcome to attend.
