Newcastle junior Inigo Burguete was recently pointed out by the sports writers at the Oklahoman as a track runner to watch.
They stated, “He’s having a stellar season for the Racers. On Friday at Duncan’s meet, he won the 800 with a time of 2:02.” Burguete continued on to the Regional Track and Field Meet on Saturday at Putnam City High School to be named champion there, as well. He’ll be competing again on Friday and Saturday at the State Track Meet in Yukon.
Burguete is also a member of both the 400 meter and 800 meter relay teams for Newcastle.
