Newcastle residents are invited to a meeting of the Rotary Club International of Newcastle to hear their guest, Mark Morgenthaler, with the Department of Rehabilitation Services - Services for the Blind and Visually Impaired.

The Rotary meeting is at 6:15 p.m., Tuesday May 16 at the Community Meeting Room at Newcastle Library, 705 N.W. 10th Street. This meeting is of particular importance to those who may need assistance for this service, Morgenthaler said.

He said SBVI works with individuals who may have a visual impairment or blindness in which they are aiming to get assistance in getting back into the workforce or need help retaining their current employment.

“We have provided assistance with eye surgeries, assistive technology such as computer modifications and other areas needed by the individual,” Morgenthaler said.

He said the presentation will include information about the state agency and what resources they can provide to those within Oklahoma communities.

Newcastle Rotarian Tamara Holland said the club invites area residents to attend.
