Students underwent a series of stations Wednesday, April 5 just west of the football stadium to better understand safety while driving and identifying potential hazards.

Oklahoma Energy Resources Board set up the event and gathered sponsors. Thru Tubing Solutions provided lunch for students, faculty and volunteers.

Oklahoma Farm Bureau was at Newcastle High School for the Driver Safety Training event, giving tips and advice on keeping safe while driving around farm equipment.

The Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office provided information to Newcastle students about rollover crashes. Their rollover machine showed what happens to a dummy without a seat belt.

ENDUI had its sport utility vehicle and specially made goggles so students could drive a course simulating drunk driving. Cudd Energy Services brought oilfield equipment and spoke about semitrucks, blind spots and stopping ability.
