Reading through the Oklahoman’s Sunday newspaper, the All-State football list reads like a who’s who among Oklahoma high school football athletes.
Among those names was Newcastle’s Randy Nix, Jr. The versatile Racer player was listed for his duties at tight end. At Newcastle, Nix played both sides of the ball.
Newcastle Coach Jeff Brickman said, “Randy is a tremendous talent as well as a tremendous young man with great work ethic.”
Brickman said Nix played not only tight end for the Racers, but also at defensive lineman and wildcat quarterback.
“His leadership skills helped us have a successful season,” Brickman said.
The coach added that Nix is currently being recruited by several universities to play at the next level.
