She is coming from Watonga
The Newcastle School Board of Education voted to approve Ashley Riley as the new principal of the elementary school Tuesday night at its regularly scheduled boardmeeting.Rileyreplaces Bridgett O’Conner who resigned in September.
Riley holds a Bachelor of Arts in Education and a MasterofEducationdegree both from the University of Central Oklahoma. She has been a public educator for 21 years, during which time she spent 17 years as a classroom teacher and a curriculum facilitator.
She is currently the principal at Watonga Elementary School where she has served in this role for the past four years.
Riley said, “I’m all N for the Newcastle Racers, and I’m excited to join a team with the momentum to accomplish great things for the students, staff and community of Newcastle.”
Superintendent Dr. Cathy Walker said, “Newcastle Public Schools is thrilled to welcome Ms. Riley to the administrative team. She brings leadership and curriculum expertise — which are needed as we focus on student achievement and advancing Newcastle Elementary School.”
A meet and greet will be announced at a later date to welcome Ms. Riley to Newcastle.
