Hop into fun at Easter in the Park

Hop into fun at Easter in the Park

Newcastle Parks & Recreation Director Kyle Marks said the Easter in the Park event from 2-4 p.m. Saturday (April 12) will be a memorable, free and fun event for families and friends.

The OEC-OEC Fiber and the Newcastle Chamber of Commerce are partnering with the City of Newcastle Animal Shelter to offer a free dog adoption during the event. They’ll IN THE PARK on page 3 have treats for the kids and for the “fur babies.” The dogs that are adopted will be vaccinated, either spayed or neutered, and microchipped.

INTHE PARK:

Egg hunt starts at 2 p.m.

All activities will be at Veterans Park, 1135 Veterans Parkway in Newcastle. The egg hunt begins at 2 p.m. Egg Hunt age groups are dividing into: newborn to two years old; three to five years; six to nine years; and 10-15 years. There will be an indoor egg hunt at the Newcastle Library for children with disabilities.

There also will be booths with kid-friendly games and activities. These are offered by participating local businesses and organizations. Marks said this is not an event where vendors are selling items, as they want this to be a completely free event for the community.

The following are the other planned activities: Meet the Easter Bunny and snap a photo; train rides and pony rides; petting zoo and inflatables; and free hotdogs.

Sponsors of Easter in the Park are: Snow Enterprises LLC, Contemporary Family Dentistry, Triton Foundation Repair LLC, Norman Regional Health Systems, Pioneer Coop, OEC-OEC Fiber, Tinker Federal Credit Union, and Community Bank of Oklahoma (Newcastle), and Boing City Party Rentals.
