Mid-America Technology Center (MATC) announces the retirement of Deputy Superintendent Denny Prince.
After nearly a decade of dedicated service, Prince will be concluding his tenure, leaving behind a legacy of growth, modernization, and excellence in education.
Prince joined MATC in 2015 as the Director of Operations, bringing with him a wealth of experience and passion for advancing educational opportunities, said a MATC spokesperson.
His leadership and vision quickly earned him promotions, first to Assistant Superintendent in 2017 and later to Deputy Superintendent in 2020.
Throughout his career at MATC, Prince has been a driving force behind numerous initiatives that have transformed the institution and enhanced student success.
A testament to his outstanding contributions, Prince was recognized as the Oklahoma Association of School Administrators (OASA) District 20 Assistant Superintendent/ Central Office Administrator of the Year in both 2022 and 2024. OASA, which consists of 20 districts spanning multiple counties, awards this honor based on nominations and selections made by peers within each district.
One of his most notable achievements is overseeing MATC’s latest building project, which includes a new IT building, an expanded administration wing, a new student commons area, additional conference rooms, and a safe room designed for enhanced security and emergency preparedness.
Before his tenure at MATC, Prince served as the Superintendent of Lexington Public Schools, where he played a vital role in strengthening the district and fostering academic excellence.
Prince’s contributions to MATC and the broader educational community will have a lasting impact for years to come, the spokesperson said.
“As he embarks on this new chapter of life, the entire MATC family expresses deep gratitude for his unwavering commitment and leadership,” the spokesperson said. “We extend our heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to Mr. Prince in his well-earned retirement.”
