The routine cemetery cleanup at Newcastle Community Cemetery is scheduled for the last week of March — March 29-30.
To ensure that no personal items are accidentally removed, visitors are asked to retrieve any decorations, including flowers in vases, by March 23.
Cemetery guidelines allow only flowers in vases attached to monuments or arrangements in saddles secured to the top of monuments. Any items that do not comply with these regulations may be removed during the clean-up process.
“We appreciate the community’s cooperation in following the guidelines and removing any personal decorations before the deadline,” a City of Newcastle spokesperson said.
