Newcastle and Blanchard Libraries will have a foam recycling operation at their locations from 1:30-3 p.m. Saturday at Newcastle and from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Blanchard.
Organizers said, “If you have foam drink cups, meal trays, busted ice chests, packing material, with the exception of foam peanuts that are just too difficult to keep from blowing away, or any other foam items, then you will be happy to know the foam recycling operation will be available.”
Be sure all items you bring are very clean or they can cause problems for the densifier (foam-melting machine). If there are tomato sauce stains, those are okay. Unless the wind is too strong, the densifier will be working Saturday.
She said, “If you have never seen it in operation, it is fascinating and your kids might enjoy watching how it works. If you have questions, you can ask them here.”
Newcastle Library is at 705 N.W. 10th Street. Blanchard Library is located at 205 N.E. 10th Street.
