We reported the incorrect time for the Chayse Martin fundraiser in a page 1 story last week. The flyer we were sent which told of the event In a second story from page 1 on Newcastle Chamber of Commerce activities, we inadvertently left out Cindy Frizzell from among scholaship namesakes.
We should have said the following: Each year, the Newcastle Chamber raises money for scholarships, said it was to begin at 6 p.m.; however, the time was changed to 4 p.m. We regret this error and any inconvenience it may have caused.
and the past couple of years they’ve raised enough money to provide scholarships for four Newcastle High School graduates. The Chamber provides the four scholarships in honor of Newcastle residents Cindy Frizzell, Mona Brite, Patti Maness, and Gene Reid.
