As the February and March calendars get underway, Newcastle’s Chamber of Commerce has several events planned including the annual Racers for Excellence luncheon and scholarship auction.
The big fundraiser will be 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. on March 25 at Newcastle Library’s Community Room. For now, however, there are other Chamber activities planned. A Business Bites for the three Tri-City Chambers of Commerce was February 5 at Jamie Joe’s in Tuttle, and a Morning Mingle will be from 9-10 a.m. February 14 at HMS Cooling, Heating & Plumbing, 514 N. Main Street in Newcastle. Anyone can attend this event.
Each year, the Newcastle Chamber raises money for scholarships, and the past couple of years they’ve raised enough money to provide scholarships for four Newcastle High School graduates. The Chamber provides three of the four scholarships in honor of Newcastle residents Mona Brite, Patti Maness, and Gene Reid.
