This year’s Tri-City Cruisers Annual Open Car Show will be from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on April 29 in the parking lot behind Braum’s. The restaurant is located on the south side of State Highway 37 and Tri-City Drive.
The show gets underway with registration from 8-11 a.m. Judging is from 11 a.m. to noon, and trophies are awarded at 2:30 p.m. The car show is free to the public.
Car owners with entries need to be paid before 11 a.m., and all who are will receive their car’s picture participant plaque. Registration is $30. Forms to register can be found on the Tri-City Cruisers’ page on Facebook. Last year there were more than 330 cars participating.
Top Ten trophies, which are handcrafted, will be awarded. Sponsors and club members will be handing out trophies, and there are door prizes, a 50/50 drawing, kids’ activities, an NSRA safety inspector, and a disc jockey playing music.
Club spokesperson Bob Hagan said the hosting club members’ cars are ineligible to participate in the show.
He added that all proceeds raised will go to help community needs. Past donations have gone to those impacted by the Moore tornado, local residents whose house had burned, and local residents with health issues.
The club also has provided scholarships for the tuition of vo-tech students who work in the automotive program.
“Anyone who has a need, we will try to help them,” Hagan said.
Club President David Gayanich invites the public to attend. In case of severe weather on April 29, a rain date of May 6 has been planned.
The Tri-City Cruisers is an active car club in the Blanchard, Newcastle, and Tuttle, Oklahoma area. Members enjoy a common interest in muscle cars, original and modified cars and trucks of all makes and years. Club activities include monthly meetings, an annual car show, cruise-ins and dinner drives.
The Tri-City Cruisers is a two-time nominee for Newcastle Chamber of Commerce Business of the Month.
