A chili cook-off and a networking activity await Newcastle residents through events by the Newcastle Chamber of Commerce.
The Community-Wide Chili Cook-Off is first from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, January 24 at the Newcastle Christian Church, 2200 N. Main St. Proceeds made from the event will go to the area’s first responders. This is the same chili cook-off originally scheduled in December, but which was postponed. Businesses and organizations can sign up and participate for $25 per chili entry. To register, email chamber@newcastleok. org.
Area residents can take part by paying $10 for taster samples and a serving of your favorite chili with all the fixings, drinks and desserts. The chili cook-off is sponsored by Walmart.
A January Business Networking Luncheon, sponsored by OEC Electric & Fiber, is from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, January 28 at the Newcastle Library Community Room.
Attendees will learn about the OEC Youth Tour program and the Operation Round Up OEC Foundation. Lunch is being catered by Luigi’s Bistro. To attend, RSVP online
