Yvonne Adkins, age 91 of Goldsby, passed away Saturday January 11, 2025.
Emma Yvonne Phillips was born August 7, 1933, in Newcastle, the youngest of three children born to William E. Phillips Jr. and Audrey (Patton) Phillips. She was raised in Newcastle and attended school there.
She married the love of her life, B.P. Adkins, on August 6, 1949, in Norman. They made their home on the family farm in Goldsby where they raised two children, son Scott and daughter Marcia.
Yvonne worked as a farmer and rancher, side-by-side with Bill in the day-to-day operations of Adkins Farms. She genuinely loved the farm, and her work was her hobby.
Yvonne “Purdy” was a great hostess and all her friends and family claim their fondest memories at her and B.P.’s home. Yvonne was a woman of great faith and a longtime member of McFarlin Methodist Church in Norman. She cherished her family and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed!
She was preceded in death by: husband, B.P. Adkins; daughter-in-law, Libby Adkins; her parents, William E. Jr and Audrey Phillips; and brothers, Harry Phillips and wife Nadine, and Walter Phillips.
Yvonne is survived by: her children, Marcia Adkins of Goldsby and Scott Adkins of Goldsby; five grandchildren, Brandon Adkins of Goldsby, Brett Adkins and wife Tina of Goldsby, Phillip Adkins and wife Monica of Goldsby, Mitzi Moring and husband Barry of Newcastle, and Ryan Hill and wife Megan of Goldsby; 13 great-grandchildren; two greatgreat- grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
A viewing is Thursday, January 16, 2025, at Wilson-Little Funeral Home from 1-7 p.m. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m.
