MATC announces skills, leadership winners

Mid-America Technology Center students enrolled in the Trade and Industrial Education programs recently participated in the SkillsUSA Regional Skills and SW District Leadership Competitions held at technology centers throughout the state.

Mid-America Technology Center students enrolled in the Trade and Industrial Education programs recently participated in the SkillsUSA Regional Skills and SW District Leadership Competitions held at technology centers throughout the state.

MATC had 36 students qualify to compete at the SkillsUSA State Leadership and Skills Conference April 23-25 in Tulsa. Students from Newcastle placed in with the following results: Customer Service — Destiny Sandlin, Newcastle, 6th place secondary; Esthetics — Jaelynne Eastep, Newcastle, 5th place secondary; Job Interview — Emma Wilson, Newcastle, 3rd place secondary; Job Skills Demonstration O — Trinity Hulsey, Newcastle, 6th place secondary; Manual Machining — Isabella Ratcliff, Epic/Newcastle, 6th place secondary; Opening & Closing Ceremony — Trailee Morton, Newcastle 3rd place secondary; Daisy Worden, Newcastle, 3rd place secondary; and Quiz Bowl — Sarah Town, Newcastle, 6th place secondary.
