Elcyzyn chosen to play in Native American All-Star Game

Ayden Elcyzyn, a 17-year-old senior from Newcastle High School was 1 of 60 applicants chosen to play and participate in the Native American All-Star Football Game to take place in Frisco, Texas, on January 7, 2024.

Elcyzyn will be the only citizen representing the Chickasaw Nation during the five-day clinic coupled with a banquet and the final event, the All-Star game.

Players chosen, including Elcyzyn, are seen as the top 60 Indian Country high school football players who maintain their grade point average and are seen as leaders for the next generation.

During the event, he and the other players will be coached by former NFL players and coaches. There will be recruiters from many colleges and professional organizations attending to watch the game, and there will be national media reporting on the game.

During a camp, January 4-6, players will work with coaches to prepare for the game, take part in position exercises to improve their football skills, and learn leadership by hearing from community leaders and participating in workshops.
