An election for several Newcastle City Council seats has been called for April, and a filing date was set for Monday, February 3 through Wednesday, February 5.
The following seats come up for election: Council Member Ward 1, unexpired term expiring April 2027; Council Member Ward 3, expiring April 2029; Council Member Ward 4, expiring April 2029; and Council Member At-Large, expiring April 2029.
Currently serving in these seats are: Kimberly Sutton, Ward 1; Mike Fullerton, Ward 3; Karl Nail, Ward 4; and Gene Reid, At-Large.
Candidates filing must have been a resident of their ward for at least six months prior to filing their declaration of candidacy.

Candidates for municipal office may file their Declarations beginning at 8 a.m. Monday, February 3, 2025.
Filing is at the McClain County Election Board office, 121 N 2nd Avenue, #101, Purcell. A municipal candidate filing packet with fillable forms can be obtained off the State of Oklahoma Election Board website.
