Celebrating the holidays
An “extra sweet” holiday celebration dubbed Candyland Christmas is planned for area residents at Pryor Place Event Center in Newcastle. The activity is from 4-7 p.m. on Sunday, December 15 at 1900 SE 16th Street.
Organizers said bring your family to this free celebration. They said events are planned with “festive fun, magical moments, and local holiday cheer.”
Events include: a Christmas- themed miniature golf through a candy wonderland; a life-sized snow globe where participants can step inside; complimentary cookies and milk; and a Christmas Vendor Market where participants can shop unique gifts from local businesses.
Organizers said there will also be a Sugar Plum Fairy Freeze Dance, a time to make a craft while a Christmas story is being told, and photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus.
Area businesses are sponsoring these activities in order to make the celebration free to those who attend.
