The Community-Wide Chili Cook-Off planned December 13, sponsored by Walmart and the Newcastle Chamber of Commerce, has been postponed until January.
The event previously set from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Newcastle Christian Church, 2200 N. Main Street, will still be held, but a scheduling conflict has forced the Chamber to change the date.
Those looking ahead for something to do in January should plan now. The new date is January 24. Entry will still be $25 per chili, and the public can get taster samples and servings for $10. A portion of the proceeds will be going to area first responders.
The Chamber says get those chili recipes ready.
