Two upcoming Mid-America Technology Center community classes are geared to first-time home buyers, or home buyers who want to brush up on buying skills.
The first, scheduled from 6-8 p.m. on December 10, will be at MATC’s Business and Industry Building in room 318. It’s focus is on Mortgage Essentials. Organizers said attendees will gain the knowledge and confidence to make smart decisions when buying a home. The course is intended to simplify the mortgage process and covers key topics such as loan types, interest rates, credit requirements, and the application process.
“This course is perfect for first-time home buyers or anyone looking to enhance their financial savvy,” said a MATC spokesperson. “It will equip you to navigate the path to home ownership with clarity and confidence.”
A second class will be in the same MATC building and classroom from 6-8 p.m. on December 17. This class focuses on credit score essentials. Attendees will learn how credit scores work and the factors that influence them. They will learn practical ways to improve and maintain a strong score.
“This class is perfect for those aiming to boost their financial health,” the MATC spokesperson said.
The course provides the tools to confidently manage debt, correct errors, and build good credit habits for lasting financial success, he said.
