Mid-America Technology Center (MATC) Equine Production students have been hard at work preparing five exceptional horses for the 2024 December Internet Auction, which is underway and continued until today (Thursday).

These young equine enthusiasts are showcasing their training and care skills, presenting horses that embody quality, skill and potential.

This year’s featured horses, each bearing unique qualities and lineage, are Django Style, Double The Chics, Dun Crossing Boarders, Habanero Rose, and Outta Kansas.

Under the guidance of MATC teacher Heather Robinson, the students meticulously care for, train, and ready these horses for the auction, ensuring each one meets the high standards expected by prospective buyers.

Participation in a prominent auction like this highlights the students’ hard work and provides valuable exposure to the equine industry.

Proceeds from the sales support the program, fostering continued growth and innovation in equine education at MATC.

The MATC Equine Production program is designed to introduce students to the care and management of horses. Students will be instructed in the selection of breeds, color, and markings; equine health and disease; mare reproduction; stallion reproduction; weaning/halter beaking techniques; and skills to become gainfully employed in an equine-related career.

As the auction date approached, anticipation builtamong the MATC community and the equine world. Each horse’s profile and training progress has been featured on the auction platform, giving potential buyers an inside look at the animals.
