Showing their commitment in preparing for the OSSAA Class 5A State Semi-Final game tomorrow (Friday) night, the Newcastle Racers took to the football field on Thanksgiving Day to get in some practice. The Racers play at 7 p.m. against the Guthrie Bluejays at Putnam City High School, 5300 NW 50th Street in Oklahoma City. Newcastle and Guthrie enter the game with similar records. The Racers are 6-0 in regular season and 9-3 overall, while Guthrie is 6-1 in regular season and 9-3 overall. Guthrie’s only regular-season loss was to number one seed Carl Albert. Both Guthrie and Newcastle lost to Class 4A teams Tuttle and Blanchard in preseason competition.
