Vendors, parade participants sought for annual holiday event
The City of Newcastle’s Parks and Recreation Department is announcing its 4th Annual Christmas in the Park event. It will be from 3-6 p.m. on Thursday, December 7 at Veterans Park.
The activities will be followed by a Lighted Christmas Parade and a special Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony.
Parks and Recreation Director Kyle Marks said, “This year, Newcastle Parks and Recreation is calling on local businesses, crafters, artisans, and community organizations to participate in the Christmas in the Park celebration. Vendor opportunities are available for those interested in selling holiday goods, handcrafted items, and festive treats in the holiday market.”
The City is also looking for participants to join in the Lighted Christmas Parade, an event they say illuminates the streets with holiday spirit.
“We are so excited to invite local vendors and community members to be part of this beloved event,” Marks said. “Christmas in the Park is a magical experience for families and friends to gather and celebrate, and the support of local vendors and parade participants helps make it a truly special evening.”
Event Highlights
• Holiday Market: From 3-6 p.m., vendors will provide a variety of holiday items, gifts, and treats.
• Kids’ Activities: Inflatables, games, a bike giveaway, and free photos with Santa and a real reindeer.
• Live Performances: Enjoy holiday performances by Newcastle High School Choir, Newcastle Elementary, Shiloh Christian Academy, Footworks, and Elevate Dance Academy.
• Lighted Christmas Parade: Starting at 6 p.m., the parade will light up the roadways with holiday floats.
• Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony: Following the parade, attendees are invited back to the park for the tree lighting to close out the evening.
How to Participate
Vendor booths are available for $25, which includes a 10x10 space for displaying goods and products. All CHRISTMAS on page 3 booth rental fees go to support the Firehouse Santa program. Marks said for parade participants, this is a wonderful chance to decorate a float and add to the event’s festive atmosphere.
Interested vendors and parade participants can sign up online. For additional details, contact Marks at [email protected] or by phone at 405-387-4506.
Marks said, “Don’t miss this opportunity to be part of Newcastle’s holiday tradition and make this season one to remember.”
